PAST COHORTS

The Green Youth Upskilling Program (GYUP) is committed to developing a skilled, future-ready workforce for Nigeria’s green economy. Each cohort represents a cycle of intensive training, real-world experience, and measurable impact.

Our cohorts are designed to equip young people with practical skills, industry exposure, and career opportunities across key sectors such as renewable energy and waste management.

GYUP 2025 Cohort

The GYUP 2025 Cohort marked the successful launch of the program, equipping young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills across two critical sectors of the green economy — Renewable Energy and Waste Management.

Following a structured technical training phase, 25 participants were selected and placed in 10 host companies across both the Island and Mainland areas of Lagos State for a three-month internship program.

This hands-on exposure ensured that learning extended far beyond the classroom into real industry environments.

Performance & Outcomes

Independent site assessments conducted by NCIC highlighted strong outcomes across both training tracks. Participants demonstrated:

  • High technical competence
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving ability
  • Professionalism in workplace settings
  • Readiness for employment in the green sector

Host companies expressed high satisfaction with the interns’ performance, with many indicating interest in:

  • Partnering for future cohorts
  • Retaining top-performing participants
 

At the Close-Out Event held on 17th April 2026, excellence was celebrated as:

  • 10 outstanding participants were recognized
  • Financial grants were awarded for exceptional performance
